Bible Study 1 | Who wrote the Bible |
2 Peter 1:20 2 Timothy 3:16
|
2 Peter 1:20 Above all , you must understand that no prophecy of scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3:16 Cross reference: 16 All scripture given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: You have to believe and receive the Holy Spirit in order to understand how the Spirit can guide someone to write what God wants as his word. In other words don't try to fight this battle, walk away man just walk away. Your job in that conversation is to quote the word and keep it moving. You have successfully planted and or watered. We are saved by the hearing of the word. Important to note: Don't try to convince them, just do your part and give them the scripture. |

Bible Study 2 | Not all the same |
Romans 9:21
|
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor? 22 What if God willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory. Hebrews 5:4 Cross reference: 4 No one takes this honor upon himself: he must be called by God, just as Aaron was, Other related view of scripture: The word says in regards to Egypt, it was for this purpose you were built into a great nation. (using my own words) This speaks to the God allowing Egypt to be the greatest nation on earth just so he can show himself to be the one true God defeating all the Egyptian gods, the gods of the greatest nation. If you are the creator you can do what you want with your creations. You might not like this but that is the way it is. If you see God as a God not your best friend as people like to call him in church, you will have no problem with this. Don't use this as a excuse to do less than you are capable of. You won't know what God has in mind for you unless you get up and do something. Go somewhere. Make some kind of move. Sit around waiting and praying on a thing too long and God may move to someone else to do the job he had set aside for you.

Bible Study 3 | You can control the spirit |
1 Corinthians 14:29
|
29 Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30 And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31 For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32 The spirit of the prophets are subject to the control of the prophets. 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. Understanding Sadly many pastors allow the congregation to have "run away emotional times" that are justified by saying the spirit was high. Consider this, if people are jumping around so long you can't do the sermon or the sermon has to be cut short, understanding that people are saved by the hearing of the word? Then why would the spirit prevent the word from going forward? On a very simple level, here's a simple example that you might not consider. That man or woman in church who shouts out "religious" things like "say that pastor" or "you better tell it" or whatever, and they do it so loudly that it causes people in the church to look over at them often, there by taking attention away from the pastor who is delivering the message, this is a different spirit, not God's. God's spirit would not act in a way that would take attention away from the word because by the word people are saved. |

Bible Study 4 | It's not about the money |
1 Timothy 6:5
|
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness; from such withdraw theyself. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into temptation and destruction.
